Clean but still slippery
Even though a floor may look clean, it can still be
slippery. Just a small amount of water can cause a
serious slip hazard on a smooth, painted floor. Water
spillages inside premises are sometimes missed,
especially in areas where water has been brought in
from outside.
It would be unproductive to keep mopping the floors,
so the best way to overcome a slippery floor is to apply
a slip resistant coating. Many floor surfaces contain grit
to make them anti slip; however, this can make them
difficult to clean as the mops and floor wipes catch on
the sharp grit. The surface will become clogged with dirt
and other contaminants, making the floor slippery again.
If you want an anti slip surface that can still be cleaned
easily, choose a product that contains beads, such as
Watco Safety Coat, which produces a finely textured
finish making the floor easy to clean.
